Twas Funny Sweet.

On my way to the car something funny happened,

Ok funny and sweet...if I was really honest.

It must have been around 6.15 p.m.

The scurry to get out of the city was oh so dramatic.

All roads leading out of town were jam packed,

People just wanted to get home.

Funny thing is,

It's like the town didn't want to be left alone.

So there I was,

Caught up with other pedestrians,

Trying to make our way home.

I had just grabbed my pieces of cake from Cake City.

They have lovely sponge cakes,

And today I overindulged,

Slightly.

I got me two thick slices of cake:

One chocolate choc-chip,

One caramel.

The chocolate choc-chip I had tasted before.

It was like 3 spongy dark chocolate cakes,

Each on a bed of whipped cream,

With hidden treasures of chocolate chips in between!

The caramel was new for me.

It had golden caramel drizzled on the frosty top,

Of white sponge cake in between soft layers of cream.

 Boy, oh boy, wasn’t I looking forward to it!

Just as I had crossed the street,

A certain guy caught my attention.

He did my eyes good because boy was he a hunk.

He must have been 5 feet 7 inches thereabout,

Well suited in a soft grey or was it a brown number.

Forgive my confused recollection.

His perfect face and gorgeous eyes had me a bit...

Okay, a lot distracted.

Not to mention his demeanour...

Breathtaking.

He continued in my direction,

And I towards him.

Would he notice me?

What was I asking?

Notice me?

He was going to.

Head high,

Confident in my stride,

I walked on by...until my left foot tipped on the side,

I wobbled, did a funky leg!

I almost tripped myself!

"Woops!" I think I whispered under my breath,

Then again knowing me, I might have said it out loud,

Half laughing at myself, half cursing at my shoe.

"I could have fallen," I thought while laughing on the inside,

 "Bet he saw it all! or did he? Hmm..."

Just as we were crossing paths,

We made eye contact and shock on me...

His lips even moved!

He was talking to me!

"Sorry," he said, followed with a warm beautiful smile...

"Thank you," I said,

And walked on smiling.

I knew it. He saw it.

That I, I almost fell for him-

Literally...then again,

He noticed me which was ... funny - sweet.
